RICI Leadership Meets PNAC to Strengthen Conformity Assessment Standards in Pakistan

RICI leadership met with the Director General and representatives of the Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC) to discuss opportunities for strengthening technical competence, international exposure, and conformity assessment practices in Pakistan.

The strategic meeting focused on the continued development of internationally recognized management system and conformity assessment practices, with discussions around technical expertise, global standards, and opportunities to strengthen Pakistan’s position within the international quality and accreditation landscape.

PNAC serves as Pakistan’s national accreditation body under the Ministry of Science and Technology and provides accreditation services for certification bodies, testing and calibration laboratories, inspection bodies, and other conformity assessment bodies.

For certification bodies, technical competence, impartiality, consistency, and alignment with applicable international requirements are important elements of credible conformity assessment. PNAC’s certification body accreditation framework is based on internationally recognized requirements, including ISO/IEC 17021.

For RICI Pakistan, engagement with PNAC reflects its continued focus on strengthening professional competence and maintaining robust conformity assessment practices. RICI Pakistan has also recently completed a PNAC ISO/IEC 17030 Pre-Assessment as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its systems and processes.

The meeting represents an opportunity for continued dialogue between industry stakeholders and Pakistan’s national accreditation framework, supporting greater awareness of international standards, professional competence, certification practices, and conformity assessment in Pakistan.
