1. Lifting inspection

It includes

Real-time radiography (RTR) – Uses low-dose x-rays to produce electronic images. Commonly used for the prompt and efficient inspection of pipes.

Guided wave (GW) ultrasonic inspection – Uses ultrasonic energy to identify areas of wall loss within a pipe.

Electromagnetic acoustic transducers (EMATs) – Induces an alternating current within a magnetic field to detect wall loss and isolated defects.

Phased array (PA) ultrasonic inspection – Utilizing high-speed electronic scanning without moving parts, PA ultrasonic inspection collects images from multiple angles with a single probe.

Time of flight diffraction (ToFD) Ultrasonic Inspection – A multi-mode ultrasonic inspection technique that measures the flight time of sound energy through a material.

Alternating current field measurement (ACFM) – Often used in place of conventional magnetic particle and liquid penetrant testing to detect and size cracks in most metals.

Post weld heat treatment (PWHT)

RICI is specialized as third party inspection in PWHT for the steel and metal fabrication industries including the construction of pressure vessels, pressure piping, storage tanks, buildings, bridges, offshore platforms, power plants, oil and gas refineries, and petrochemical plants.

There is often a mandatory requirement for PWHT due to compliance with welding codes and specifications on certain materials including but not limited to carbon steels, stainless/high alloy steels and work hardened steels. There may also be PWHT requirements based on the wall thickness of the parts being welded together.

Holiday Detection

The holiday detector is also known as a porosity detector, pinhole tester, spark tester, jeep tester or jeeper. RICI provides the services to our client as third-party inspector to detect and location of pinholes, holidays, bare spots or thin points in protective coatings applied for corrosion protection over metal or concrete (conductive) surfaces. Holiday detectors are suitable for production pipeline coating operations, tank work and structures.

Positive Material Identification

RICI provides the services of Positive Material Identification (PMI) is the analysis of a metallic alloy to establish composition by reading the quantities by percentage of its constituent elements. Typical methods for PMI include X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and optical emission spectrometry (OES). We conduct PMI on welding and piping products with our portable hand held battery operated Ferrite testers.

Ferritic test

Ferrite content analysis is a non-destructive testing method which provides critical data for austenitic stainless steel and duplex materials, RICI provides third-party inspection services in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain to perform proper ferrite testing, both a minimum material thickness and a minimum specimen size are required. Test results are interpreted in accordance with current specifications and/or customer requirements. RICI third party inspection services in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain issued reports are accompanied when necessary by drawings to identify locations tested.

Thermography test

Inductive heat-flux thermography makes defects on the material surface visible to the eye and provides information on the size and depth of defects via thermal images. This minimizes expensive reworking of the test parts. The testing method of inductive thermography covers nearly 100% of the material surface and works without contact.

In testing with DEFECTOVISION IR, the part to be tested goes through an induction coil and is heated on the surface at the same time. Four infrared cameras detect the resulting temperature distribution of the material. At exposed defects, a local temperature increase occurs with an amplitude that depends on the size of the material defect. The digital data is evaluated by the test electronics, which determines the precise position and category of the defects fully automatically.
